AVT MAGIC THipPro Lite Telephone Hybrid

MAGIC THipPro Lite Telephone Hybrid is based on the MAGIC THipPro hardware, but has a reduced range of functions. The system is available with 4 or 8 caller lines and has two LAN interfaces that can be used for control and optionally for VoIP calls. Alternatively, POTS modules can be integrated, providing 4 or 8 POTS interfaces for connection to analogue telephone lines.
The line interfaces can be enabled via the VoIP & HD Voice option or the integration of POTS modules .

MAGIC THipPro Lite has four digital audio lines (two AES/EBU interfaces) and two analogue audio inputs and outputs. Optionally, an extension to eight digital audio lines (four AES/EBU interfaces) is available. In addition, it offers two handset/headset interfaces. Optionally, the AES67 upgrade allows the use of eight additional audio channels (8 x RX (2 streams) and 8 x TX (1 stream)) via IP. Alternatively, a Ravenna or Dante module is also available. The audio interfaces can be assigned as desired to the up to 6 installed workplaces (one licence is included) and 2 studios.

The system can be used in three operating modes:
  • In One Fader mode, all callers set to ON AIR are switched to conference and are thereby available on the selected audio output as a mixed signal. The N-1 signal is automatically generated for each caller line.
  • In Two Faders mode, two ON AIR lines are available. The callers can thus either be output on separate audio outputs or switched to a common audio line in conference.
  • In Four or Eight Faders mode, a separate ON AIR line is defined for each caller. Each caller is thus available on a separate audio output, mixing - if necessary - can be done via the mixing console.
A special highlight is the possibility to use the telephone hybrid for two studios in one-fader, two-fader or four- or eight-fader operation. In each studio, only the selected caller lines are displayed and each studio has its own ON AIR and PRETALK lines.

Available Options:
MAGIC THipPro Lite VoIP & HD Voice Option
The software activation allows a LAN interface of the MAGIC THipPro Lite to be used for four or eight VoIP calls. The extension available in the combination package also includes HD Voice (G.722). In this way, calls from HD Voice compatible telephones can be received in 7 kHz quality. Of course, outgoing calls are also transmitted in 7 kHz quality if the remote station is G.722 capable.

MAGIC POTS Option
Optionally, one or two POTS modules can be integrated, providing 4 or 8 POTS interfaces for connection to analogue telephone lines.

Windows PC Software
The system already includes one Windows PC software license, which can be used, for example, to store screening information on callers in a database (MS ACCESS or optionally MS SQL), which is immediately available when the phone number is transferred. With additional MAGIC THipPro Lite software licenses, additional PC workstations can be set up, e.g. to create a screener operating station or to implement a two-studio solution. A total of up to eight PC operator stations can access the system.

Pretalk Streaming Upgrade
MAGIC THipPro Lite also supports the Pretalk Streaming function. With this upgrade, the LAN connection between the hybrid and the control PC can be used for Pretalks, so no additional audio cables have to be routed. The conversation with the caller takes place via the PC sound card or a USB headset or handset. Pretalk Streaming also allows the caller and presenter signals to be recorded as a WAV file. A total of up to six Pretalk Streaming licenses can be activated, these can be assigned to a workstation or defined as dynamic licenses.

AES67 Upgrade
AES67 is available as a software upgrade for all MAGIC THipPro Lite Telephone Hybrids. The upgrade allows the use of eight additional audio channels (8 x RX (2 Streams) and 8 x TX (1 Stream)) over IP via AES67. AES67 is the lowest common denominator of several similar technologies and ensures communication between e.g. AES67 compatible Dante® and Ravenna® devices.

Dante Module
With the Dante/AES67 interface card for MAGIC THipPro Lite devices, 32 audio inputs/outputs can be routed over IP to Dante® or AES67 compatible mixers.
This feature includes 2 LAN intrefaces for Dante® and is only available for VoIP devices.

Ravenna Module
With the Ravenna/AES67 interface card for MAGIC THipPro Lite devices, 32 audio inputs/outputs can be routed over IP to Ravenna ® or AES67 compatible mixers.
The module already supports the NMOS sepecifications for Discovery & Registration as well as Device Connection Management, which significantly facilitates an integration into large scale AoIP networks.
This feature includes 2 LAN interfaces for Ravenna® and is only available for VoIP devices.

MAGIC PhonerSet
MAGIC PhonerSet enables convenient operation of the MAGIC THipPro Lite telephone hybrids via a touchscreen-enabled telephone. The telephone can be used parallel to the Windows PC software or independently without a PC. The connection for the control of all caller lines and the transmission of the audio signal takes place via a standard network interface.
MAGIC PhonerSet uses the caller lines of the used telephone hybrid system - an additional registration to a SIP server is not necessary. MAGIC THipPro Lite allows the simultaneous use of up to eight MAGIC PhonerSets operator stations.

DTMF Analyzer Plug-In
A practical tool for game shows or sports events is the DTMF Analyzer Upgrade. There are three operating modes to choose from: Standard, Gameshow and Event.
In standard mode, only the numbers pressed by callers on their phone are displayed.
In the game show mode, the first caller who pressed the button is additionally highlighted.
In event mode, the DTMF Analyzer can be used for sports reports, for example. We imagine there are several reporters in different stages and all of them are connected to the MAGIC TH6 via telephone. One of the reporters is switched to ON AIR while the others are in HOLD status. If it comes to an important event such as a gate, the reporter in HOLD mode also wants to signal this to the moderator. For this, DTMF event labels can be defined in advance in the software, e.g. the telephone key "0" is assigned the term "gate" and the key "1" means "red card", etc. If a reporter now presses the "0" key, the information "Tor" appears in green letters on the moderator's screen. The moderator can now immediately switch the reporter of the relevant game to ON AIR.

Ember+ Extension Upgrades
For more complex Ember+ configurations, the Ember+ Extension Upgrade offers simplified programming due to an improved functional overview. The Ember+ Consumer Extension licence is used for DHD mixers, for LAWO consoles the Ember+ Dial Pad Extension licence is used. A maximum of six licences can be activated for the MAGIC THipPro Lite.

Remote Reporting Upgrade
In order to broadcast a report when the studios are unmanned – which is often the case at many radio stations in the evenings and at night – a reporter can use the Remote Reporting Upgrade to carry out a live report via his mobile phone. After dialling into the device, a freely definable PIN must be entered. A confirmation tone then sounds to indicate whether the entry was correct. The caller is then switched directly to the programme. To end the transmission, the reporter simply has to hang up.
The Remote Reporting Upgrade can also be used for emergency announcements. Instead of a reporter, the police, fire brigade or emergency services can then dial in directly. To prevent misuse, certain phone numbers can be white-listed in the phone book. Only these authorised numbers can then dial in.
*For the evaluation of the PIN, the optional DTMF Analyzer Plug-In is additionally required.

SQL Upgrade
Caller data can be stored in a database (screening). If the number is transmitted during a call, all available information is displayed. By default the MAGIC TH6 works with an MS Access database, which can optionally be replaced by an MS SQL database. This is particularly advantageous if a common database with several devices is to be used.
MAGIC System Manager Upgrade
If a broadcasting station has several AVT telephone hybrids and audio codecs, these can be displayed in the MAGIC System Manager. This central management software allows a clear presentation of all MAGIC TH1Go, MAGIC TH2plus, MAGIC TH6, MAGIC THipPro Lite, MAGIC THipPro and MAGIC ACip3 systems. Even if the system uses different software versions, all devices are supported. For each device, possible alarms and the operating status (in use, in configuration) are displayed. The query is made cyclically via SNMP. System Monitor, Registration Dialog, System Panel and Firmware Download can be accessed.
All hybrids and codecs can also be configured remotely from an administrative location. A complete remote configuration of the system is possible, all presets and super presets can be managed. For security reasons, the current status of the line is displayed. In the future also desired systems are to be selected and then on appropriate clients and systems a new release is to be rolled out completely. Reconfiguration is also planned, either manually or via a scheduler. Presets and super presets can be loaded quickly and easily, as well as SIP accounts can be assigned or changed.
*One MAGIC System Manager license is required per system
