De AEV matrix 8x8 is een matrix switcher voor studio gebruik met 8 inputs en 8
outputs. De Matrix 8×8 is uiterst eenvoudig handmatig te beheren met behulp van de schakelaars op het voorpaneel; daarnaast kan Matrix 8x8 ook worden aangestuurd via externe software via de Ethernet-poort (Lan-optie).
Per uitgang kan slechts één ingang worden toegewezen, Matrix 8x8 heeft niet de mixerfunctie. Dezelfde enkele ingang kan worden gerepliceerd op alle uitgangen of een deel ervan, waardoor het de functie van audiosignaalverdeler heeft.
De extreem kleine afmetingen (1U rack 19") en het gebruik van omkeerbare rackmontagesteunen maken een eenvoudige en functionele positionering van het apparaat in elke bedrijfssituatie mogelijk.
