Sennheiser

Sennheiser headphones, microphones and wireless microphone.
Fritz Sennheiser founded Laboratory Wennebostel ('Labor W') in June 1945. Initially, the young company produced measuring instruments for Siemens. The farm where the company was founded is still part of our company buildings. The company was renamed Sennheiser Electronic in 1958 and in 1996 the legal form changed to Sennheiser Electronic GmbH & Co. KG. KG.
In 1945 Siemens commissioned the laboratory to take a microphone from an Austrian supplier back into production. This was introduced as the MD 1 in 1946. In the same year, Sennheiser began developing its own microphone, the MD 2, which was added to the company's portfolio in 1947.
In the early 1960s, Sennheiser started its own development of condenser microphone technology, which was used in radio programs, film sets and TV studios.
In the late 1960s, Labor W introduced a wireless microphone for radio and TV use.
Around 1970, Sennheiser introduced the dynamic microphone MD 421, which is still being produced and sold today.
The HD 25 headset comes on the market in the 1980s. The HD 25 was originally developed as a monitor headset, but was also used as a luxury headset onboard the Concorde and later became popular with DJs from all over the world. In 2013, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the HD 25 with a retrospective on the history of these legendary headphones. Today, the Sennheiser HD 25 II, HD 215 II and MD 421, MD 42, MD 46 Microphones are widely used in the Broadcast world.
