Why choose an FM output stage / amplifier for your transmission system?
There are many choices to make with the radio installation of a radio station. 
To broadcast on the FM is of course an FM station necessary. 
Nowadays there are transmitters up to 5 kwatt that easily fit into 1 housing, but many technicians prefer to purchase the FM transmitter / exiter and the amplifier / output stage separately in a separate housing. 
  Why would you do that?
In the event of a possible defect, the entire installation is usually not out of service. 
At some stations the power changes and you can usually only replace the final stage. 
The settings of your station (loudness swing) will remain intact if you only replace the final stage. 
The total purchase costs of a separate transmitter with a power amplifier are usually a fraction higher compared to an "all-in-one housing" device, but if something changes in the situation this is perhaps the best solution.
Ultimately it depends on the wishes of the radio broadcaster or technician, but several options are possible.
